This work by Alejandra Phelts explores the duality between fragility and strength within the feminine nature. It transforms the woman’s body into a winged symbol — a being that nests, nurtures, and also takes flight. Through hybrid figures — half bird, half human — the artist reflects on freedom, motherhood, the desire to rise, and the ability to endure even with wounded wings.
Alejandra Phelts is a Mexican artist whose work explores the relationship between the human and the natural through sculpture, objects, and installation. With a poetic and symbolic language, she transforms organic materials into pieces that reflect on identity, memory, and spirituality. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries and projects that seek to connect art with the essence of the feminine and the sacred.

It evokes the notion of companionship and solidarity among bird-women, like branches growing together on the same symbolic blue tree.

This work engages with the idea of returning to essential affections — to the emotional center — represented through winged figures that come back to the heart.

This piece combines floral symbolism with the mysticism of the winged to speak of identity, adornment, and freedom within the feminine.
